Powerbuilder Programmer

Stopka and Associates has an immediate need for a Powerbuilder Programmer for a contract at is Fortune 100 Portland Area client. Interested parties, please respond immediately.

Utilize programming and development skills to provide technical analysis and support for the divestiture, integration, and migration activities centering around the phased replacement of a legacy system. The key activity is the reverse-engineering of the legacy system (developed with Powerbuilder and Oracle). Scope of work also includes some business analysis, programming, test, and other construction and transition activities.

Technical skills:
Powerbuilder is critical. Strong candidates should have 3-5 years of hands-on expertise with Powerbuilder, version 6 or later.
Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Navigator are strongly preferred.
Java, Windchill, Rational Rose, and OOP are a plus.

Functional background:
Direct involvement reverse-engineering legacy systems from database and application perspectives.
Direct involvement in the divestiture (phased shutdown) and replacement of legacy systems.
Direct involvement in data migration and systems interfacing.
Business analysis and programming background.
Database analysis is a strong plus. Past work in design and development a plus.

General work:
Strong ability to work with others in a supporting role and to contribute at a team level.
Flexible and adaptable to changing roles and various levels of responsibility.
Experience supporting product design-related business processes in a retail environment is a strong plus.
